Fall Soccer has begun.

++ Skills at Bond Park begins Monday August 29th for 5 and older and Thursday September 12th for 3&4. We will confirm registration by taking payment the first week of practice. We will also be happy to answer any questions. If you have not registered please contact our Skills Coordinator at rocksoccerskills@gmail.com or a Board Member.

We couldn't have done it without you! RSC raised $3000 through the Chevy Youth Soccer Program in partnership with Fagan Automotive. Our top ticket seller was Micah Overley with the U11 Storm Boys and our top team was the U10 Kickers Boys. As a not-for-profit soccer club that maintains very low club fees, fundraising opportunities like this are huge. Part of the proceeds will be used to purchase of a new line sprayer for our fields.

We are happy to announce the launch of our very own Rock Soccer Logo Wear powered by MMPR. Click here to view and order. All orders must be completed by October 1st. The turnaround time is about two weeks. We will periodically have "open" order periods.

Time for Mowing! Earn Volunteer Rebate.

The fall soccer season is starting, and it’s time to volunteer for mowing. Mow two times and earn a volunteer rebate.

1). As of September 1st, the calendar is wide open. I am looking for mowers for the fall, starting immediately.

2). The club is looking for someone to take over the scheduling for the mowing My system is to find people interested, train on the mower, and put their names on the club calendar. It’s that simple. You can also use your own system. Let me know if you would be willing to take on this for the club.

Important Tip - while mowing, please do not get too close to the goal posts, the mower likes to eat nets. Also be aware of the irrigation system heads and covers, sometimes they can stick up or the covers get moved off the hole. Everything should be fixed now, and if you discover any issues, let me know asap.

If anyone is interested in mowing, but has not been trained, let me know and I will schedule a short training class.

RSC First Touch Summer Camp – Thursday Nights

Join us on Thursday evenings 6-7pm at Youth Sports Complex

June 24^th – August 12^th,

All kids in 2^nd through 8^th grad are invited to participate in this 8 week summer program dedicated to helping playrs develop important ball control skills.

A free clinic provided by RSC. To sign up click here. Players can participate in any sessions.

Sessions will be led by licensed coaches and area high school players who will bring key skills each week for the players to try and then practice on their own that week.

Overview of Rock Soccer Club

The Rock Soccer Club (RSC) is dedicated to the promotion and development of soccer in Janesville and the surrounding Rock County area for the community's children and youth, both male and female between the ages of 3 and 19.

Current activities include:
* In-House Skills League for ages 3-10
* Competitive soccer leagues for grades 3-12
* Referee in Training (RIT) program.
* Adult league for those males age 30 and over and females 18 and older.

RSC, a 501-3c not for profit organization, is designed to provide a broad-based, low cost recreational soccer program where children can have fun and learn the game through controlled competition.

RSC also participates in Madison Area Youth Soccer at the both the Recreational and Classic Level.

Parent involvement and volunteers are critical and strengthens the soccer community.

Soccer Programs

In-house Soccer League

The RSC Skills Soccer League is designed for players ages 3-10 who want to learn proper soccer techniques or sharpen soccer skills in a fun-based atmosphere.

The Skills League runs two programs in Spring and Fall for 8- weeks.

Players practice are two-days a week with games on Saturdays.

3-4 year olds practice 1 day a week and the program runs approximately 6 weeks.

In an effort to emphasize skill development in the younger age groups and encourage participation of all children interested in the game, getting as much playing time during practice or the games is desired.

Primary attention is given to the individual skill improvement and the dynamics of team play.

To reinforce this approach, team standings are not maintained in the In-House Soccer League.

Recreational Competitive

Teams These teams are designed for players grades 3-12 who want to experience more competitive soccer.

Teams are formed in June and January for the following spring and fall seasons.

As rosters sizes are limited the club, new players are accepted on a first-come basis.

Placement on teams is done through a combination of coach recommendation, player request and if appropriate player evaluation.

The goal is to accommodate all those desiring to play and position players for the most success as a team and individual.

Teams play approximately eight games against in both fall and spring with four home/four away with 2 practices per week.

Prior participation in the RSC In- House program or a comparable soccer program is recommended.

Tournament competition is offered at this level.

Classic Competitive Teams

These teams are designed for U11-U19 and provide a higher level of competition in the MAYSA league.

Based on the number of players tryouts may be held.

If possible, RSC tries to accommodate players and their family based on their interest recognizing that appropriate placement is key for player success.

Tournament competition is highly recommended.

Coaching Philosophy

The Rock Soccer Club employs coaches and officials who are certified and invested in teaching children in a supportive, skill-based environment.

The club strongly encourages parents and others who have a desire to coach or have coached before to become a certified coach.

The Club reimburses those who complete their WYSA coach certification, which is offered at various levels.

Assistant Coaching is volunteer-based and offers a great introduction to coaching with no licensing required.

Recognizing that the proper training of younger players is critical, RSC has created the position of Skills Coaching Director to ensure that there is appropriate and adequate coaching staff to support our In- House Program.

The Club President currently acts as the coordinator for our Competitive Teams.

As a member of MAYSA, the Club follows the recommended development guidelines as set forth in MAYSA Age Group Curriculum.

Governance

RSC is governed by a Board of Directors that are elected by the members of Rock Soccer Club as defined by families' participating in one of the soccer programs.

The officers are elected annually at the Annual Meeting.

Board Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month and the agenda is open should others wish to have an item included.

Help Your Child & Rock Soccer Club

Help your child and Rock Soccer Club by reading the Liberty Mutual Responsible Parenting Guide and take the Quiz. RSC could win a $2500 grant.

Click here and follow these simple instructions:

O Start reading the guide by clicking on Read Coursework.

O Then take the very short multiple answer 10-question quiz. If you get a wrong answer, you can correct it. The goal is to have you be successful.

O Once you complete quiz, you will need to sign in with only a name, email and password.

O You will be sent an email verification. Once you receive, click the link and you will be sent to page to verify and select how you heard about the Responsible Guide.

O At the very end you can then credit your quiz by typing in Rock Soccer Club, Janesville, WI.

O You are done, have helped your child and the club!

The club gives a special thanks to Bill Fisher who has served as president for four years and has been instrumental to the club's formation and growth. Fisher will be serving as RSC official liaison to MAYSA. Thanks also to Alan Reinicke who served as secretary last year.

Coaching & Volunteer Opportunities

Rock Soccer is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization and relies on the support of our volunteers and community. We encourage everyone to get involved whether it is cheering on the sidelines, helping out an hour or so, or being a team manager. Below are some opportunities to get involved.

Coaching
Due to growing size of the club, RSC is actively recruiting coaches and assistant coaches. For information on coaching opportunities with the Rock Soccer Club, e-mail info@rocksoccerclub.org or any board member identified on our Contact Page.

Volunteer needs & rebate opportunity
There are many ways to help the organization and earn a volunteer rebate to help offset the cost of the program. Please see opportunities below. If you are interested please email the club at info@rocksoccerclub.org. Certain volunteer activities earn a volunteer rebate of $50 provided at the end of the Spring or Fall season. Download a reimbursement form from our Forms Page.

Team Manager ~ Provide critical help to your team's coach by focusing on scheduling and communication.

Field Maintenance ~ Hop on our mower and keep our fields in great shape. (training on the equipment will be necessary to mow the fields). We have 5 fields which take 45 minutes each to mow. Also with the mowing comes painting the lines as well. Contact Dave Overley if interested by emailing him HERE. Tips for mowing are HERE. Instructions to operate the mower are HERE.

Uniform & Equipment Manager ~ Help take inventory of our equipment and supplies in the shed at YSC and to work with our board and coaches to develop a target list of equipment needs. The manager will also help with ordering uniforms.

Club Promotion ~ Can you help get the word out about Rock Soccer Club. You can write an article, talk about the club at school, get free advertising, or help with reach out to certain areas, etc.

Fundraising ~ RSC needs people who are willing to explore fundraising ideas for everyone to be involved with to raise capital to maintain the fields, pay for coaches, refs, uniforms and additional fees for the club. For example write a grant, organize a scoopie night, or as importantly help us with sponsors.

Refereeing ~ Our players have the opportunity to be licensed to ref younger soccer games. If your daughter is interested in becoming a referee please visit www.wisref.org the cost is minimal. The class is a one-day class and the cost of a uniform. Parents can do as well.If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, contact Rock Soccer Club at info@rocksoccerclub.org.
